Welcome Home!

Last night, May 30th, my sister Beth came home from her mission in Sweden. Her flight was originally supposed to land at 9 pm, but after some delays it finally got to SLC at 11 pm. My dad was smart and checked online before we left to see if the plane was on time and when it wasn't, we stayed at their house instead of waiting at the airport. We stayed at their house after the airport until about 1:30 am seeing some of the things she brought home and hearing a tiny bit about her life the past 18 months.

Here are some pictures of the happy family :)

Waiting to meet Aunt Beth for the first time.

There she is! (yellow shirt)

Hugs all around!

And Tim again...

Even Joshua was excited to see her.

Mike was way sleepy.

The whole group.

Edited June 1st: I should add that Beth will be speaking in church next Sunday, June 8th, at 9 am. There will be a brunch at my parents' house after sacrament meeting (at about 10:30 am). I'm sure she would love it if you came to either or both! Let me know if you need directions to either place.

Happy Birthday!

Mike had a fun first birthday hanging out with his cousins for all of Memorial Day weekend. (He decided to wait to celebrate his birthday with Mom's family until after Aunt Beth gets home from her mission in Sweden on Friday)

To make his birthday complete he suddenly decided he was completely done with bottles and formula (on to milk from the sippy) and he started walking more than a few steps. He still mostly crawls, but give him a week or two and he'll be walking for good. Here are some pictures of the fun:

Mike's birthday cake! (I ordered it from WalMart - It was yummy)

The little cake WalMart gives out for free for first birthdays.

Bath time!

When Mike was teeny tiny he HATED baths.

But...now that he's learned how to splash...he LOVES them!

Elder Burgoyne reports to the MTC

We took my brother Aaron to the MTC on Wednesday, May 7th. He's going to the Germany Munich/Austria Mission and is very excited. We'll miss him, but we're very proud of him! Mikey won't remember him, he'll be three years old when Aaron gets home!

As we watched my family walking back to their 8 passenger van afterwards, we both thought of how strange it looked for my family to have only three kids. Well, for three weeks anyway.

My parents and siblings, except for Beth, who gets home from her mission in Sweden on May 30th.

Just the siblings.

Mom "pinning" on the badge.

A fun picture of my younger siblings.

My two brothers. Tim will definitely miss his big brother!

Another Ear Infection

Apparently Mikey has another ear infection.

When I got home from my first class today, at about 11:15, he seemed normal. After a little while I noticed he felt a little warm. Over the next couple hours he got a little warmer, so I checked his temperature. I got 100.8, so no big deal, I'll just keep watching him. We were just sitting on the couch, watching TV together (weird that he just wanted to snuggle with me) when he started crying. I got up to get him some children's motrin when he projectile vomited all over the kitchen floor. (Good thing I got up and went to the kitchen!) So...I called the doctor's office to see if I should bring him in. They said his doctor didn't have any openings today (surprise surprise, I really like his doctor, but apparently so does everyone else. We can never get in when he's sick so we get stuck with someone else) so they suggested taking him to the InstaCare across the street. His temperature had gone down by the time we got there. (I think his puking helped him feel a little better too.) That doctor didn't impress me. The first thing he said when he walked in was a comment that Mike was tugging on his ear. Everyone says that. Mike plays with his ear as a comfort object, usually when he's tired, so everyone always thinks he has an ear infection. He looked at his ears anyway and still decided on an ear infection so he prescribed some omnicef. Whatever. Now that we're home and he's had some motrin, antibiotics, a little pedialyte, and a couple teddy grahams, he's talking and playing again. :)

Baby or Little Boy?

My baby is quickly growing into a little boy, especially in the last few days. (He'll be 11 months tomorrow!) Here are some fun pictures.

Drinking his bottle standing up. He doesn't trust himself enough so he's barely touching the chair.

Playing on his piano.

Trying to drink from a sippy with a straw.

His new favorite hiding place.

Slowly sitting down when we try to get him to stand.

Making a mess in the kitchen, as usual.

Here he is running away before I can put a new diaper on and going straight to making messes. (Joshua thinks I'm weird for taking pictures, but I think his little bum is so cute!
