Chicken Pox

Yep, Mike has the chicken pox. We thought since he had the shot just 2 months ago he'd be safe. Nope! Brayden and Kyler got it a couple weeks ago (They've both been vaccinated as well) and kindly passed it on to their favorite cousin, Mikey.

Luckily it's a pretty mild case, he only has two spots so far, and no fever. He complains a little, but the most annoying (and gross) part is the puking. Once yesterday and three times so far today. He's not keeping much down, poor guy.

Good thing we just borrowed the carpet/upholstery cleaner from my parents cause we're really going to need it now!

Memories

This game has been making the rounds. It's so fun to remember things about other people, and also read other's memories as well. Feel free to participate, or don't.

1. Add a comment on my blog. Leave at least one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

7 Eleven

Friday afternoon, since it was 7/11, I stopped at 7 Eleven on my way in to work. I saw the signs on the door saying they were out of free slurpee cups, but decided I wanted one anyway, so I battled to busy parking lot to get a parking spot. I walked inside to see a big crowd around the slurpee machines, and didn't feel like dealing with it so I started walking back out to my car to go to work. That's when the pick up truck next to me started backing out and turned right into the side of my bimmer. Oh...crap. The kid (a 16 year old who had just gotten his drivers license and was obviously not practiced enough in leaving a parking spot) stopped, and eventually pulled back into his spot. I called Joshua, who talked to the kid for a while. He gave me his information, I took a few pictures with my camera phone, then I left for work. (I ended up being only 5 minutes late) What a lovely way to start a work shift. We're going to call and talk to his dad today. Someone is going to pay for a whole new door panel, and it's not going to be us!

Rock Band

As most people who know me know, Rock Band is my favorite video game. By far. There isn't much competition. My best instrument is lead guitar, second would be bass guitar. I'm not very good at singing and I'm horrible at drums. I definitely need to work on those, but I want to be amazing at guitar first. :) We like to go to Joshua's sister's house and rock out with them. Brayden is just as good as the rest of us, even though he's only 8. He's amazing.

We even get the babies involved:
(Mostly because they demand it, they hate that all our attention goes to something other than them.)

Mike loves the drums.

I've been playing this game since Thanksgiving, but I just barely got my first gold stars (getting somewhere around 150% of the points needed to get 5 stars) this week:

One of my highest note streaks:

Another pretty good score:
(I forgot to turn off the flash on this one, then Mike advanced the screen so I couldn't get another shot.)

This is what I look like when I'm playing at home:

Water Bottle

This is my son trying to put the lid back on a water bottle. (Sorry it's so shakey) At the end he's finally asking for help, but I ran out of memory on my camera after taking a bunch of pictures yesterday, so it just stopped.

4th of July

To celebrate the 4th of July, my great-uncle threw a big party in his backyard. They made mini hamburgers then everyone else brought chips, salads, desserts, etc. Joshua and Mikey had a lot of fun in the pool, as usual.

Church News

I don't know how many people who read this blog get the Church News, but I think this is pretty cool. My brother, Aaron, is on the front cover. He's the one on the far right. (In the dark suit...haha) The picture is of the Mission President of the Germany Munich/Austria mission and his wife with all the missionaries in the MTC who have been called to that mission.
