Las Vegas?

Joshua and I need a vacation. Our last vacation was one night in Wendover for my birthday over a year ago. As a server, you don't get paid to go on vacation, and Joshua doesn't have enough vacation hours at his day job to go anywhere big. So...we're going to be huge copy cats and do what Nicolette and Jeremy did this last weekend - a weekend in Vegas. We'll probably leave Mike with family and take off as soon as Joshua gets off work on a Friday, then come home Sunday afternoon/evening.

So...I need suggestions and tips. Especially from those of you who live there. Best hotels, best places to eat, etc. (on a budget of course!)

Everytime I have ever gone to Vegas, we have always stayed at the Virgin River Hotel in Mesquite. You can get rates as low as $30/night plus you're only a hour away from Vegas. The hotel is amazing- bowling alley, movie theatre, all you can eat buffet is delicious. That is of course, if you're willing to stay outside of Vegas. I love it there.

It would be a well deserved vacation! I'd be more than happy to babysit, but i seem to be entrapped by a law saying I must go to school. :P I hope everything goes smoothly!

I've spent a lot of time in Vegas, especially since my mom has lived in Mesquite for years. I would recommend staying in Mesquite the one night you guys drive down, since you can get a cheaper room and you'd only have an hour left to drive to Vegas in the morning. If you want to stay directly on the strip, Circus Circus or Sahara are going to be your best rates. If you're going to go off strip, I'd recommend Terribles. It's only a block from the Strip (which is good because it's literally impossible to try and drive everywhere). It's not a scary place to stay (like a ton of places off strip are) with good rates!

Food...well I recommend if you want to do a buffet at least once, you can get half price tickets for them. There are half price ticket stands scattered all over the strip (a couple I can think of off the top of my head are right next to the M&M factory). You can get discounted tickets for buffets, shows, and other attractions in Vegas. We got tickets for the buffet at the Rio one night and it was great! Nice to spend a lot less too! Also, gotta hit up In and Out burger. There is one a block off the Strip on Tropicana. Good food and UBER cheap!

Let me know if you want to know anything else! I've got a ton of useless Vegas info that takes up too much of my brain LOL.
